Minion Miniatures began as a Kickstarter in 2014. We initially wanted to create hard plastic miniatures and jumped headlong into creating a range of goblins and zombies. I had no experience of Kickstarter however, having never even backed a project before and the first experience failed. I was told to think smaller, a little project to introduce my range and the world I had envisaged to the gaming community. I came up with Monsters of Underdeep.

Monsters of Underdeep was a small Kickstarter that focused on the larger monsters from the factions I had created. Initially we started with the Bugbear Ironshield from the Goblin-Kind faction and the Flesh Golem from the Abominations faction. The Kickstarter was a great success. We had over 200 backers and even unlocked some other great monsters such as the Lizardkin Deathscale from the Lizardkin faction and a Wandering Monster in the form of the Troll Patriarch.
The community was intrigued and we quickly gained a couple of thousand Facebook likes and interest grew on the forums. It seemed that people wanted to know about the world I imagined and very soon people were calling for the next Kickstarter to begin.
After two Kickstarters we now have a small range of larger monsters to offer the gaming community. However, this is the tip of the iceberg. We have plans for a variety of factions from Goblin-Kind to Zombies, Lizardkin to Orcs and many other factions too. We also have finished writing our game; “Underdeep” which is currently being play tested prior to its launch in the second half of 2017.
We are also finishing the fulfilment of our second Kickstarter which, when finished, will enable us to focus on our third instalment – Goblin-Kind! The next Kickstarter will be full of the sneaky little blighters and their kin. We hope this will be our largest and most successful Kickstarter to date. We also have plans to revisit plastic manufacturing in the near future.
